Belt Conveyor Power Optimization Study
BC Hydro and Ridley Terminal (Prince Rupert) approached Hatch to conduct a power optimization study on their belt conveyor system. With a small team comprising of only two engineers, we employed innovative solutions to undertake this study. I acted as the Data Analyst and Mechanical EIT for this project. We processed more than 100 million rows of data using Python Pandas. Some of my responsibilities in this project are as follows:
Used Python to visualize the Belt Conveyor power consumption data.
Created an automated program for calculating the required belt conveyor power as recommended in CEMA 5 using Python.
